General notes on this boat
16 Oct 1942. U-353 was the second U-boat to be sunk in the vicinity of convoy SC 104. U-661 had gone down with all hands the day before.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-353 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
