General notes on this boat
According to the captain's diary this boat never went to Scotland like many sources claim but was one of only 3 U-boats left in Bergen when over 30 boats were transferred to Scotland in late May and early June 1945. The others were U-324 and U-1202.
10 Jan 1949. U-926 was renamed KNM Kya, and served in the Royal Norwegian Navy until 1964.
Men lost from U-boats
Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-926 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
