Previously recorded fate

  • Sunk by the British destroyer HMS Viscount on 15 Oct, 1942 in position 53.42N, 35.56W. (Postwar assessment)
Notes. This attack actually sank the U-661 instead.

Wolfpack operations

U-619 operated with the following Wolfpacks during its career:
   Blitz (22 Sep 1942 - 26 Sep 1942)
   Luchs (27 Sep 1942 - 5 Oct 1942)

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-619 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
