In attacking convoy ON(S) 5 the boat suffered damage during an exhaustive 15 hour hunt by the escorts. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 293)

17 May 1944
U-532 encountered British submarine HMS Tally-Ho in the Indian Ocean (Malacca Straits). Tally-Ho fired a six torpedo fan, all of which missed.
