Cape Hatteras
This is the battleground of Operation Drumbeat. The first boat lost on the US East Coast was the U-85 in April, 1942. 7 boats were lost around Cape Hatteras, the rest of the boats lost in North American waters are further north along the coast and out of Newfoundland.
