Sunk at 1157hrs on 4 February 1944 in the Baltic Sea north of Swinemünde, in position 54.01,8N, 14.16,3E, by an air-laid mine in the British minefield Geranium. 51 dead and 7 survivors.

Loss position

There are unconfirmed reports that its wreck was raised on 18 November 1968 and was probably broken up.
