British Halifax HR741 (58 Sqn RAF/H, pilot F/O D.E. Taylor)
04.07 hrs, Bay of Biscay, outbound: The aircraft was hit by flak after illuminating U-846 with three flares, and crashed into the sea, killing the crew of eight. Men lost from U-boats
