Sunk on 31 October 1943, in the Strait of Gibraltar north of Tangier, in position 35.54N, 05.52W, by depth charges from the British A/S trawler HMS Imperialist and the British destroyer HMS Douglas. 31 dead and 18 survivors.

The boat was depth charged by escorts from convoy ONS 4 east of Cape Farewell, Greenland. Damage to the periscope forced the boat to return to base at Brest. Date is approximate. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 291)

12 Jul 1943
Two American OS2U Kingfisher reconnaissance aircraft attacked the boat in the Gulf of Gonave, Haiti, causing minor damage. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 364)

28 Jul 1943
The boat lined up an attack on a small naval convoy (3 repair ships and 3 destroyers) off Cape Maisi, the eastern tip of Cuba, but the destroyers located her and dropped depth charges. The boat escaped unharmed. (Sources: Blair, vol 2, page 364)
