22 Sep 1943. From 22 to 30 Sep, 1943, U-387 assisted the weather observation ship Kehdingen (WBS 6) in setting up meteorological station Schatzgräber on Prince George Land, in the Franz Josef Archipelago west of Svalbard on the Arctic Circle.

25 Sep 1943. U-387 put a ground reconnaissance team ashore on the north coast of Alexandra Land in the Franz Josef Archipelago in the Arctic west of Svalbard.
