Patrol in the North Sea off Southern Norway. At 23.30 hours on 26 March, U-21 ran aground at the Norwegian coast on Oddknuppen Island following a navigational error. The boat was interned by Norway, refloated on 28 March and towed to Mandal, later to Kristiansand-Marviken. After U-21 was recaptured by Germany in April 1940 it was transferred to Kiel and returned to service as training boat after being repaired.
