Attacks on U-108 during this patrol

16.15 hrs, mid Atlantic N of the Canaries: three bombs from a British Catalina flying boat (RAF Sqdn 202/N, pilot William Ogle-Skan) based at Gibraltar caused extensive damage. Unrepairable problems with the bow torpedo tubes forced U-108 to return to base the day after. (Sources: Ritschel)
