Formed U-boat group 1 (Narvik) together with U-46, U-51, U-64 and U-65 for Operation Weseruebung, the German invasion of Denmark and Norway. On 13 and 14 April, the boat spotted the British battleship HMS Warspite three times during her attack on Narvik, but each time U-25 was not able to get in a good firing position. Later the boat operated off the Shetland Islands, but had to return to port due to engine and radio problems.
