19 Oct 1940
HMS Jason (Lt.Cdr. R.E. Terry, RN) picks up 39 survivors from the Dutch merchant Bilderdijk that was torpedoed and sunk in the North Atlantic in position 56°35'N, 17°15'W by German U-boat U-38.
HMS Jason also picks up 40 survivors from the British merchant Uganda that was torpedoed and sunk in the North Atlantic in position 56°35'N, 17°15'W by German U-boat U-47.
