HMS H 43 (Lt. G.R. Colvin, RN) departed Plymouth for her 5th war patrol. She was to conduct a special operation (Operation Anger). A reconnaissance agent was to be landed on Guernsey. HMS H 43 was escorted out until 2230 hours by HMS Lord Stanhope (Skr. W.R.A. Hicks, RNR).

HMS Umbra (Lt. P.H. May, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Plymouth with HMS Lord Stanhope (A/Skr.Lt. W.R.A. Hicks, DSC, RNR), HMS Olvina (A/Skr.Lt. J. Howson, RNR), HMS Grimsby Town (Skr. W.A. Cormack, DSC, RNR) and Notre Dame de France (A/Skr.Lt. J. Coxall, RNR). (2)

2 May 1944
HMS Seraph (Lt. T. Russell-Walling, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Plymouth with HMS Lord Stanhope (A/Skr.Lt. S.G. Jinks, RNR) and HMS Kingston Chrysoberyl (A/Skr.Lt. H. Rich, RNR). (3)
