USS Biddle picks up 37 survivors of the American tanker Esso Boston that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-130 about 300 nautical miles north-east of St. Martins in position 21°42'N, 60°00'W.

USS R-12 (Lt.Cdr. E.E. Shelby, USN) participated in A/S exercises off Guantanamo Bay together with USS Biddle (Lt.Cdr. T.A. Torgerson, USN) and USS PC-625.
