USS Biddle picks up 14 survivors from the American merchant Nathaniel Hawthorne that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-508 about 40 nautical miles north-east of Isla de Margarita in position 11°34'N, 63°26'W.
13 Mar 1943
USS Biddle picks up 53 survivors of the American tanker Cities Service Missouri and 37 survivors of the Dutch merchant Ceres that were torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-68 about 170 nautical miles north-west of Curaçao in position 14°50'N, 71°46'W.
