Around 0530R/30, the escort carrier HMS Trouncer (Cdr. B.J. Fisher, DSO, RN) and the frigate HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. V. Browne, RCNR) departed Cristobal, Panama Canal Zone for Norfolk, Virginia where they arrived in the early evening of 4 June 1944. (1)

HMS L 27 (Lt. J.N. Elliott, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Bermuda with HMS Mary Rose (Lt. A.L. Gulvin, RN) and HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. V. Browne, RCNR). (2)

10 Jul 1944
HMS L 27 (Lt. J.N. Elliott, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Bermuda with HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. V. Browne, RCNR) and HMCS Orillia (T/Skr.Lt. J.W. Sharpe, RCNR). (2)

22 Nov 1944
HMS Vitality (Lt. K.S. Renshaw, DSC, RNR) conducted A/S exercises off Campbeltown with HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. Victor Browne, RCNR). (3)

23 Nov 1944
HMS H 50 (Lt. W.T.J. Fox, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Campbeltown with HMCS La Hulloise (Lt.Cdr. J. Brock, RCNVR) and HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. Victor Browne, RCNR). (4)

3 Jan 1945
HMS Trusty (Lt. J.P. Fyfe, DSC, RN) conducts A/S exercises with HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. V. Browne, RCNR) and HMCS St. Therese (T/Cdr. J.E. Mitchell, RCNVR). (5)

13 Feb 1945
HMCS Orkney (A/Lt.Cdr. V. Browne, RCNVR) collided with the merchant Blairnevis in the Irish Sea . The Blairnevis was grounded and eventually became a total loss. HMCS Orkney was under repair until April.

11 Apr 1945
HMS Universal (Lt. S.S. Brooks, DSC, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Campbeltown with HMCS Rivière du Loup (T/Lt. R.D. Weldon, RCNVR), HMCS Stellarton (T/Lt. M.G. McCarthy, RCNVR), HMCS Orkney (Cdr. J.M. Rowland, DSO, RN) and HMS Loch Killin (Lt.Cdr. S. Darling, DSC and Bar, RANVR). (6)

25 Apr 1945
At Loch Alsh, HMS Trespasser (Lt. L.E. Herrick, DSC, RN) and HMS Tactician (Lt.Cdr. L.N.A. Jewell, DSC, MBE, RN) conducted A/S exercises with HMS Philante (Cdr. M.J. Evans, OBE, RN) and ships from Escort Group 25 which were most likely the following; HMCS Orkney (Cdr. J.M. Rowland, DSO, RN), HMCS La Hulloise (T/A/Lt.Cdr. J. Brock, RCNVR), HMS Joliette (T/A/Lt.Cdr. W.E. Harrison, RCNVR), HMCS Strathadam (A/Lt.Cdr. H.L. Quinn, DSC, RCNVR) and HMCS Thedford Mines (Lt. J.A.R. Allan, DSC, RCNVR). (7)
