History Launched as William Blackstone for US Maritime Commission, lease lend to Britain and completed in October 1943 as Samtucky for the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT).

Post-war:
1948 returned to the US Maritime Commission and laid up in Mobile as part of the reserve fleet. 1962 scrapped at Panama City, FL. 
Notes on event

At 20.04 hours on 21 December 1944 the Samtucky in convoy HX-327 was hit by a Gnat from U-806 off Nova Scotia. The badly damaged ship was beached near Halifax and later repaired for eight months.
