Notes on event | At 14.46 hours on 4 Nov 1942 the unescorted Trekieve (Master Edwin Aubrey Grant Jenkins) was torpedoed and sunk by U-178 east of Maputo in the Mozambique Channel. Three crew members were lost. The master, 38 crew members, six gunners and two passengers (DBS) made landfall at Inhaca Island, Portuguese East Africa. | ||
