HMS Puckeridge (Lt. H.B. Acworth, RN) was attacked and damaged by German aircraft in the Irish Sea. 18 crew were killed and 20 were wounded. The ship was towed back to Pembroke Dock. Repairs were completed in mid-August 1942.
