On 6 and 7 December 1942, HMS Kale (Lt.Cdr. G.W. Houchen, OBE, RD, RNR) conducted D/G trials on the D/G range at Holy Loch. (1)

HMS Kale (Lt.Cdr. G.W. Houchen, OBE, RNR) picks up 39 survivors from the Norwegian merchant Scebeli that was torpedoed and sunk south of Cape Farewell in position 56°07'N, 44°26'W by German U-boat U-191.
