| History | Built as Nantes Hambourg for Cie. Nantaise de Navigation à Vapeur, Nantes. Renamed Ville de Saint Nazaire in 1884. Sold to G. Vallée, Rouen in 1902. In 1905, sold to Dampsk. Hamlet (W. Schmidt), Esbjerg and renamed Herleve. Two years later, the steamer was sold again, this time to W. A. Massey & Co., Hull and became Elleker. In 1908, Rederi A/B Orion (O. Wingren), Oscarshamn bought her renamed her Orion. Ångfartygs A/B Thule bought the vessel in 1915 and renamed her Sote.

Sote had sailed from Selbjiorns Fjord as part of convoy HZ26 on 22 April. On being hit Sote broke in two and the bow portion was taken in tow by H.M.S. Cicala and anchored off Bridlington. The salvage vessel Recovery towed the wreck in on the 25th, but it was found to be beyond repair and blown up.
