| SS Aube was in a southbound convoy from Quiberon to La Pallice when she was torpedoed about 8 m. SW of Le Pilier Isl. at 11 pm GMT on aug. 3rd for British (the 4th for Germans who were at the time 1 hour ahead) The ship remained afloat for some time with her front part touching the bottom and the rear part on the surface. All the 30 men on board except 1 who drowned managed to evacuate and were later picked up by the patrol boat Bouvreuil.
