Argos, master Chaillou, had just started fishing when shells fired by a submarine 500m away, surrounded the sloop. The fishermen evacuated hastily and as they were boarding a boat, a direct hit made the Argos sink almost immediately. The 5 men then pulled for the coast where they landed safely.
