History | Built as Prinz Adalbert for Hamburg-Amerika Linie, Hamburg. Seized at Falmouth. Taken into Admiralty service as a commissioned repair ship and renamed Princetown. In 1915 returned to mercantile service with Gellatly, Hankey & Co. as managers. In 1917, transferred to Cie. de Navigation Sud-Atlantique and renamed Alesia.
