| Clan Cumming had sailed from New York in convoy HN17 on 17 October 1917. When the escort for the French bound portion of the convoy failed to meet it on 31 October, the eight ships were escorted into Mounts Bay. Clan Cumming was torpedoed in a coal convoy bound for Brest.
