Cross for Merit in War (Saxe-Meiningen)

An officer-only decoration established by Duke Bernhard of Saxe-Meiningen on March 7, 1915, which was awarded 4,653 times.

Enlisted personnel were awarded the Medal for Merit in War (Ehrenmedaille für Verdienste im Kriege), of which 24,038 were issued. Both awards could be made to non-combatants, which would have a different ribbon.
