Notes
Sichart von Sichartshofen had an odd career path — receiving a commission as Leutnant zur See, then transferring to the reserves of marine (land) artillery and then the sea officer reserves before returning to active duty, all in a five-year period before World War I. The trip through the reserves effectively placed Sichart von Sichartshofen near the tail end of Crew 1907 when he returned to active service in 1914. Sichart von Sichartshofen would take an addition absence from duty, resulting in his seniority date being adjusted to May 2, 1915, at the bottom of Crew 1909 Oberleutnants zur See.
