Fate 5 Apr 1918 - Mined off Griz Nez, France while homebound, likely during the first week of April, 1918. The exact date of loss has not been determined. 29 dead (all hands lost).

The wreck of UC 79 was first located by Royal Navy divers in August 1918. It has since been rediscovered and identified by a team of French divers

Mined off Folkestone during the night of April 19/20, 1918. UB 78 was the boat lost at this time.
