SC1034 built in early 1943 in Wisconsin. Sailed down Mississippi River through Gulf of Mexico to Miami for shakedown cruise. Departed Miami to Panama Canal then up west coast to Long Beach. Then continued up north to California, continued north with stops in Seattle then up the Inland Passage to Kodiak then west to Adak in the western Aleutian Islands.
