USS SC-522 picks up 37 survivors from the Dutch tanker Rotterdam and 33 from the British tanker San Fabian that were torpedoed and sunk about 120 nautical miles south-south-east of Guantanamo, Cuba in position 18°09'N, 74°38'W by German U-boat U-511.
