History | USS SC-521 foundered in heavy weather off Santa Cruz in the Solomon Islands in position 11º03'S, 164º55'E at 0852L/11. She was en-route from Guadalcanal to Pearl Harbour with three other submarine chasers. There was no loss of life as the crew were picked up by USS SC-502 and USS SC-1047 which then returned to Guadalcanal together with USS SC-1327. |
