HMCS Drumheller (A/Cdr. G.H. Griffiths, RCN) picks up 16 survivors from the Panamanian merchant Capira that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-609 in convoy SC-97 about 400 nautical miles south-east of Cape Farewell in position 57°13'N, 33°40'W.

HMS H 32 (Lt. J.R. Drummond, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Lough Foyle with HMCS Dauphin (T/Lt. R.A.S. MacNeil, RCNR), HMCS Brandon (T/Lt. R.J.G. Johnson, RCNVR), HMCS Drumheller (A/Cdr. G.H. Griffiths, RCN) and Morden (T/Lt. J.J. Hodgkinson, RCNR). (1)

HMCS Drumheller (T/Lt. L.P. Denny, RCNR) picks up 15 survivors from the British merchant Ford Concord that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-456 earlier that day about 440 nautical miles north of the Azores in position 46°05'N, 25°20'W.

13 May 1943
German U-boat U-753 was sunk in the North Atlantic, in position 48°37'N, 22°39'W, by depth charges from the Canadian corvette HMCS Drumheller (Lt. L.P. Denny, RCNR), the British frigate HMS Lagan (Lt.Cdr. A. Ayre, RNR) and depth charges from a Canadian Sunderland aircraft (RCAF Sqdn. 423/G).
