HMCS Arvida (T/Lt. A.I. MacKay, RCNR) picks up 20 survivors from HMCS Ottawa that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-91 north-east of St. John’s, Newfoundland.
2 Nov 1942
HMCS Arvida (T/Lt. A.I. MacKay, RCNR) picks up 27 survivors from the British merchant Maritima that was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-522 in the North Atlantic about 500 nautical miles north-east of St. John's, Canada in position 52°20'N, 45°40'W.

HMCS Arvida (T/Lt. D.G. King, RCNVR) picks up 50 survivors from the British merchant Fort Rampart that was torpedoed and finally sunk with gunfire by German U-boat U-226 about 900 nautical miles east-north-east of the Azores in position 47°28'N, 22°00'W.
