Convoy BA 36.
This convoy departed Bombay on 31 December 1942.
It was made up of the (troop) transports; Cap. St.Jacques (British (former French), 8009 GRT, built 1922), Daltonhall (British, 7250 GRT, built 1941), Islami (British, 5879 GRT, built 1934), Jalamunda (British, 4981 GRT, built 1936), Kalarand (British, 1496 GRT, built 1906) and Store Nordiske (British (former Danish), 1456 GRT, built 1922).
On departure from Bombay the convoy was escorted by the armed merchant cruisers HMS Ranchi (Capt.(Retd.) J.M. Alleyne, DSO, DSC, RN) and the M/S trawler HMIS Baroda (T/Lt. A.J. Ritchie, RINR).
Around 0625DE/2, HMIS Baroda parted company.
Around 1400D/5, the minesweeper HMS Poole (Lt. W.L.G. Dutton, RNR) joined company.
The convoy arrived at Aden on 8 January 1943. (1)
