The Canadian corvette HMCS Lindsay (T/Lt. G.A.V. Thomson, RCNVR) was damaged in a collision with the British destroyer HMS Brilliant (A/Cdr. J. Pringle, RN) south-west of the Isle of Wight. Lindsay was taken to Devonport for temporary repairs. She sailed for Halifax, Canada for a refit on 19 February.
