26 Dec 1943
Around 1600FG/26, HMS Trespasser (Lt.Cdr. R.M. Favell, RN) departed from Trincomalee for her 8th war patrol (2nd in the Far East). She is to patrol of the West coast of Burma and to perform special mission 'Breech'.
She was escorted out until around 2130FG/26 by HMS Lord Grey (T/Lt. J.J. Challis, RNVR). (2)
28 Dec 1943
Around 1630FG/28, HMS Tally-Ho (Lt.Cdr. L.W.A. Bennington, DSO, DSC, RN) departed from Trincomalee for her 6th war patrol (3rd in the far east). She was ordered to perform two special operations ('Emergency Gustavus VI' and 'Mud'), followed by a patrol in the Malacca Straits and later of the Nicobar Islands.
She departed Trincomalee together with HMS Templar (Lt. D.J. Beckley, DSO, RN). The submarines were escorted out by HMS Lord Grey (T/Lt. J.J. Challis, RNVR) until around 2200FG/28. (3)
7 Mar 1944
Around 0900FG/7, HMS Trespasser (Lt.Cdr. R.M. Favell, RN) departed from Trincomalee for her 10th war patrol (4th in the Far East). She is to lay a minefield, perform a special mission ('Operation Mullet') and to patrol in the Malacca Straits.
She was escorted out until around 1515FG/7 by HMS Lord Grey (T/Lt. J.J. Challis, RNVR). (2)
3 Apr 1944
HMS Storm (T/Lt. E.P. Young, DSC, RNVR) conducted gunnery exercises off Trincomalee on a target that was being towed by HMS Lord Grey (T/Lt. J.J. Challis, RNVR). These were followed by attack exercises during which HMS Maid Marion (T/Lt. F.R. Crawford, RNVR) served as target. (4)
