HrMs O 21 (Lt.Cdr. J.F. van Dulm, RNN) conducts A/S exercises of Diego Suarez with HMS Balta (T/Lt. J.A.H. Punting, RNR).

After these exercises O 21 departed from Addu Atoll for Colombo. (2)

29 Feb 1944
The British merchant Palma is torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-183 south of Ceylon in position 05°51'N, 79°58'E. HMS Balta (Lt. W.E. Turner, RNVR) later picks up survivors.
