History | HMT Hickory (Lt. Ralph Eric Harding, RNZNVR) was mined and sunk in the English Channel south of Portland on 22 October 1940. The commanding officer survived the sinking but was wounded and 20 were killed and the survivors were picked up later by the Pine. |
