Notable events involving Pict include:


1 Jun 1941
HMS Pict (Lt.Cdr. W.N.H. Faichney, RNR) picks up 18 survivors from the Norwegian merchant Rinda that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day off Freetown in position 06°52'N, 15°14'W by German U-boat U-38.

23 Jul 1942
The British merchant Garmula is torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-752 about 200 nautical miles south-west of Freetown in position 05°32'N, 14°45'W. HMS Pict (Lt.Cdr. W.N.H. Faichney, RNR) later picks up 61 survivors.

11 May 1943
Le Centaure conducted A/S exercises off Freetown with HMS Bridgewater (Cdr.(Retd.) N.W.H. Weekes, OBE, RN), HMS Portsdown (Lt. E.L. Donkin, MBE, RNR), HMS Pict (T/Lt. G. Wallace, RNR) and HMS Copinsay (Skr. J.A. MacTean, RNR). (1)

20 Jun 1943
Argo conducted A/S exercises off Freetown with HMS Bridgewater (Cdr.(Retd.) N.W.H. Weekes, OBE, RN), HMS Petunia (A/Lt.Cdr. G.E. Newey, RNR), HMS Pict (T/Lt. G. Wallace, RNR) and HMS Wastwater (T/Lt. W.J.L. Storey, RNVR). (1)

11 Jul 1943
Le Centaure conducted A/S exercises off Freetown with HMS Boadicea (Lt.Cdr. F.C. Brodrick, RN), HMS Pict (T/Lt. G. Wallace, RNR) and HMS Turcoman (T/Lt. R.F. Pembry, RNR). (1)
