HMS H 49 (Lt. E.F. Balston, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Portland with HMS Greenfly (Cdr.(Retd.) D.A. Stride, RN). (1)
11 Mar 1940
Convoy MT 28 (21 ships) departed Methil for the Tyne where it arrived the next day. It was escorted by trawlers from the 19th A/S Group (This group was made up of four A/S trawlers; HMS Greenfly (Cdr.(Retd.) D.A. Stride, RN), HMS Lord Lloyd (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR), HMS Lord Plender (Ch.Skr. J.M.T. Brebner, RNR) and HMS Stella Pegasi (Skr. J.H.D. Dansie, RNR). This last trawler was in dockyard hand at Leith and therefore could not have been part of the escort). The destroyers destroyers HMS Jervis (Capt. P.J. Mack, RN) and HMS Jaguar (Lt.Cdr. J.F.W. Hine, RN) were also part of the escort. (2)
1 Sep 1944
HMS Unshaken (Lt. J.S. Pearce, RNR) departed Sheerness for Dundee. She made the passage together with HMS Uproar (Lt. J.N. Devlin, DSC, RN). They were escorted by HMS Greenfly (T/Lt. D.B. Orr, RNVR). (3)
