'Flight E' Landing craft

This group of landing craft and auxiliary vessels departed Falmouth around 1630B/9 bound for Gibraltar.

This group of landing craft was made up of the following vessels;
18 LCG(L)'s;
HMS LCG(L)-1, HMS LCG(L)-2, HMS LCG(L)-3, HMS LCG(L)-4, HMS LCG(L)-5, HMS LCG(L)-6, HMS LCG(L)-7, HMS LCG(L)-8, HMS LCG(L)-9, HMS LCG(L)-10, HMS LCG(L)-11, HMS LCG(L)-12, HMS LCG(L)-13, HMS LCG(L)-14, HMS LCG(L)-17, HMS LCG(L)-18, HMS LCG(L)-19 and HMS LCG(L)-20.

6 LCT(R)'s;
HMS LCR(R)-136, HMS LCR(R)-140, HMS LCR(R)-141, HMS LCR(R)-147, HMS LCR(R)-167 and HMS LCR(R)-171.

4 LCF's;
HMS LCF-8, HMS LCF-10, HMS LCF-11 and HMS LCF-12.

5 LCT's; HMS LCT-306, HMS LCT-316, HMS LCT-347, HMS LCT-410 and HMS LCT-418.

Empire Larch (British, 482 GRT, built 1941) and Empire Spitfire (British, 232 GRT, built 1943).

Outpost, Vidonia and Vindelicia.

1 Water carrier;
Empire Faun (British, 846 GRT, built 1943).

They were escorted by the A/S Whaler HMS Southern Gem (T/Lt. P.H. Riseley, RNVR) and the A/S trawler HMS Saltarelo (T/Lt. E.J.M. Jenkins, RNVR).

During part of the passage the light cruiser HMS Charybdis (Capt. G.A.W. Voelcker, RN) and the destroyer HMCS Iroquois (Cdr. W.B.L. Holms, RCN) provided cover.

'Flight E' arrived at Gibraltar on 18 June.
