HMS Vampire (Lt. C.W. Taylor, RNR) conducted A/S exercises off Gibraltar with aircraft and later with HMS Lavender (Lt. T.W. Lewis, RANVR) and HMS Morpeth Castle (T/A/Lt.Cdr. E.R. Pate, DSC, RNR). (2)

HMS Tireless (A/Lt.Cdr. M.L.C. Crawford, DSC and Bar, RN) conducted gunnery exercises in the Clyde area. Also S.T.U. (mine detection) trials were carried out. During this day also pratice attacks were carried out on HMS Morpeth Castle (Lt.Cdr. L.F.L. Hill, RNR). These also included night attacks. (3)
