Sunk after striking a mine in the English Channel in position 50º12'N, 01º20'W while enroute to Normandy invasion beaches 6 of the crew were lost and the survivors are rescued by USS Chickadee which include Lieutenant Charles Henry Swimm, USNR.
Struck from the Naval Register, 22 August 1944.

USS Osprey picks up a survivors from the American tanker Naeco with gunfire. The Neaco was torpedoed and sunk by German U-boat U-124 about 65 nautical miles south-east of Cape Lookout, North Carolina in position 33°59'N, 76°40'W.
