At 2345 hours, while exercising in the Pentland Firth, HNoMS St. Albans (Capt. G. Hovdenak, RNorN) rammed and sunk the auxiliary minesweeping trawler HMT Alberic. The trawler sank quickly taking 13 of her crew with her. St. Ablans sustained damage to her bow. (1)
