History | Assigned USN penant DE 85 but not named. HMS Dakins (A/Lt. Michael Geoffrey Henderson Arbuthnot, RNVR) was damaged beyond feasible repair when mined on 25 December 1944 north-west of Ostend, Belgium in position 51º25'N, 02º44'E. Managed to limp back to Harwich. Served as depot ship. Scrapped on 9 January 1947 in the Netherlands. |
