| History | Baltic fleet. S-7 was torpedoed and sunk at 2041hours on 21 October 1942 south-west of Aland in position 59º51'N, 19º32'E. She was located by the Finnish submarine Vesihiisi 8000 meters away. A single torpedo was fired from 2000 meters, hitting the Soviet boat in the stern and sinking it. Only the four men standing on the bridge, including the Commanding Officer survived, and were made POWs. 44 men were lost with the ship. At 1617 hours S-7 fires a torpedo against the Swedish merchant Noreg (1431 GRT) east of Ark?sund, Sweden. The torpedo misses its target.
At 1958 hours S-7 torpedoed and sank the Swedish merchant Margareta (1272 GRT) about 9 nautical miles south-east of Ark?sund, Sweden in position 58°26'N, 17°13E.
11 Jul 1942
S-7 torpedoed and sank the Swedish merchant Lulea (5611 GRT, built 1922) about 11 nautical miles east of Vaestervik, Sweden in position 57°45'N, 17°00'E.
14 Jul 1942
At 1223hours and 1438hours, S-7 twice attacked a merchant in a Swedish convoy north of the Kalmarsund. During both attacks one torpedo was fired. Both torpedoes failed to hit a target.
27 Jul 1942
S-7 damaged the German merchant Ellen Larsen (1938 GRT) south of Venspils, Latvia. The German ship was missed by torpedoes but driven ashore after S-7 attacked with gunfire.
30 Jul 1942
S-7 torpedoed and sank the German merchant K?the (1599 GRT) off Paulshafen (Pavilosta, Latvia) in position 56°54'N, 21°09'E.
5 Aug 1942
S-7 sank the Finnish merchant Pojanlahti (682 GRT) with gunfire east of Uzava, Latvia in position 57°12'N, 21°20'E.
11 Aug 1942
S-7 returns to base.
18 Oct 1942
S-7 departed from her base for a war patrol.
