While on patrol north of Libau, ShCh-407 attacked German U-boat trap Schiff 47/W. Huth (437 GRT). Two torpedoes were fired, one at 0339 hours, and one 9 minutes later at 0348 hours. Both torpedoes missed their target.

While on the return trip back to base after her first war patrol, ShCh-407 is mined and heavily damaged in the Gulf of Finland south of Porkkala, Finland in position 59°49'N, 24°27'E.
