History | Northern fleet > Pacific fleet. ShCh-423 left the Northern fleet in early August 1940 to join the Pacific fleet through the Northern route. Assisted by icebreakers she arrived in the far east in mid-October. Renamed ShCh-139 on 17 April 1942. On 26 April 1945 ShCh-139 sank following an explosion on board. On 7 May the submarine was raised and later repaired. |
