M-118 attacked a convoy firing two torpedoes at ' what is identified as ' a merchant of 7000 tons about 17 nautical miles east of the mouth of the Sulina river, Romania in position 45°09'N, 30°05'E. Both torpedoed missed their target. (1)
1 Oct 1942
M-118 torpedoed and sank the German transport Salzburg (1742 GRT) east of Lake Shahany, Ukraine in position 45°54'N, 30°19'E.
The Salzburg has some 2000 Russian POW's on board.
M-118 is sunk following this attack.
